FinDeck Privacy Policy
Short version: FinDeck collects nothing. No analytics, no accounts with us, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no server of ours. Your iPhone talks directly to the Jellyfin servers you add. The app's App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
What FinDeck stores on your iPhone
For each server you add: its name and address, your Jellyfin user name and whether that account is an administrator, the server's version and ID, your alert choices, and a few status notes the app uses to decide what to show (for example, whether the Playback Reporting plugin answered, and whether the last successful check happened over Wi-Fi or a wired connection). These live in the app's own storage on your device.
Your password is never stored. When you sign in, the password (or a Quick Connect code) goes only to the server you typed, and the server returns an access token. That token is kept in the iOS Keychain on your iPhone.
FinDeck also creates a random device ID when it is first installed. Jellyfin uses it to list FinDeck under the devices on your server; it is sent only to your servers.
Sessions, statistics, the activity log and library counts are read from your server, shown on screen and kept in memory while the app runs. The Home Screen widget shows a small summary (server name, up or down, stream and play counts, and the time they were read) that the app saves in a storage area shared only between FinDeck and its own widget.
Where data goes
Only to the Jellyfin servers you add, over the address you entered. FinDeck makes no other network requests. Nothing about you, your servers or the people who use them ever reaches Forgehaven Labs; we have no servers that receive app data.
Notifications and background checks
Alerts (server unreachable, new session, transcode started) are created on your iPhone. iOS occasionally lets FinDeck check your server in the background, and if a condition is met the app shows a local notification. There is no push service and no relay.
Purchases
FinDeck Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal information from it. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's own privacy policy.
What FinDeck does not do
No analytics or telemetry. No crash-reporting services. No advertising or ad identifiers. No tracking across apps or websites. No selling or sharing of data; there is no data to sell. FinDeck reads your server and does not change its settings; the only requests that are not reads are signing in, Quick Connect, and signing out when you remove a server.
Deleting your data
Swipe to remove a server in Settings: FinDeck asks the server to sign the app out, then deletes that server's settings and its Keychain token from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes its settings and widget data. iOS can keep Keychain items after an app is deleted, so remove each server in Settings first if you also want its access token deleted. Anything your Jellyfin server itself keeps (such as its device list or activity log) is managed on your server.
Children
FinDeck is a utility for people who run a media server. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version ever changes what data the app handles, this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the change and its date noted here.
