Connection
FinDeck can't reach my server. What do I check first?
Use the same address and port you open Jellyfin with in a browser (8096 for http by default). Local addresses only work on your home network or over your VPN. iOS allows plain http:// only for local addresses; for a public hostname use https://. If you type http and the same host also answers on https, FinDeck switches to https for you. If you declined Local Network access, turn it on in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network.
The Dashboard says Unreachable from here, but my server is fine.
FinDeck couldn't reach the server from your iPhone's current network. That's expected for a home or VPN-only server when you are elsewhere. Connect to that network or VPN and pull to refresh.
My Jellyfin server uses a self-signed certificate.
FinDeck uses the standard iOS certificate check and can't accept a self-signed certificate. Use a certificate iOS trusts (for example from Let's Encrypt or your reverse proxy), install and trust your own certificate authority on the iPhone, or connect over plain http to the server's local IP address.
Sign-in
Where is my sign-in stored?
FinDeck keeps the access token Jellyfin gives it in the iOS Keychain on this iPhone, one per server, sent only to your server. It never stores your password. Removing a server deletes its token.
Quick Connect says the code expired.
A Quick Connect code lasts 10 minutes. Start Quick Connect again for a new code, or sign in with your user name and password.
I signed in with a non-admin account. What can I see?
Your own sessions, library counts and the server version. Jellyfin shows all sessions, the activity log and watch stats only to administrators. Settings shows admin or non-admin under each server; to switch accounts, delete the server (swipe left) and add it again.
Stats
Stats are empty or ask me to install a plugin.
Full watch history comes from the free Playback Reporting plugin for Jellyfin, and reading it needs an administrator account. Install it from the Jellyfin dashboard, restart the server, then pull to refresh on the Stats tab so FinDeck checks again. History starts on the day the plugin is installed, and the plugin keeps 3 months by default.
Alerts and widget
How do alerts work, and why are they late?
Each server has three alerts in Settings. Server unreachable is on by default; New session and Transcode started are off by default. While the Dashboard is open it refreshes about every 10 seconds. When FinDeck is closed, iOS decides when it may check, at most every 15 minutes and often only a few times a day, so alerts are best effort. Background checks cover the server you are viewing. For a server on a Tailscale address (100.64.0.0/10 or a .ts.net name), FinDeck never sends the Server unreachable alert; it shows Unreachable from here instead. It does the same for a home-network server while you are on cellular data. FinDeck can't tell one Wi-Fi network from another, so on another Wi-Fi network, a home-only server can still alert.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose FinDeck (small or medium). It shows the server you are viewing in the app, with an as-of time, and DEMO when you are in the demo.
Purchases and privacy
Can I try FinDeck before I buy?
Yes. The demo is free, with every screen on sample data. Connecting your own servers needs FinDeck Pro, a one-time $14.99 purchase (the App Store shows your local price), never a subscription. Pro includes as many servers as you like, the widget and alerts.
How do I restore Pro on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the Apple Account you bought with. In Settings tap Connect your server (Pro), then Restore Purchases. FinDeck tells you if no purchase was found. If a parent must approve the purchase (Ask to Buy), FinDeck shows Waiting for approval and unlocks once it is approved.
What happens after a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. After a refund your saved servers are kept, and live data, background checks, alerts and the widget pause. Buying or restoring Pro resumes everything.
Does FinDeck change my server or collect my data?
FinDeck only reads your server, apart from signing in, Quick Connect and signing itself out when you remove a server. We collect nothing: no analytics, no tracking, no server of ours. To delete everything, delete each server in Settings, then delete the app.

FinDeck is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Jellyfin project. The Jellyfin name is used only to say which servers the app works with.
