FireGlance Privacy Policy
Short version: FireGlance collects nothing. No analytics, no accounts, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, and no server of ours. Your phone talks directly to your own firewall, and no app data ever reaches Forgehaven Labs. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
What data FireGlance handles
Firewall connection settings (name, address, port, HTTPS setting, sign-in method, the username if you use one, and the certificate fingerprint you chose to trust) are stored on your iPhone in the app's storage.
API keys and passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on your iPhone, in a device-only Keychain class: they are not synced through iCloud Keychain and do not move to another device through a backup. They do leave your iPhone in one place only: each request to the firewall address you configured carries the key or password so the firewall can authenticate FireGlance. FireGlance sends them only over HTTPS and refuses to send them over plain HTTP. They are never sent to us or to any third party.
Firewall status data (system metrics, interface addresses, gateway status, services, DHCP leases, firewall log entries) is fetched from your firewall and displayed on screen. It is held in memory, with two small exceptions kept on your iPhone in storage shared with the FireGlance widget: the latest status summary the Home Screen widget displays (firewall name, health, CPU and memory use, WAN latency and packet loss, throughput, gateway counts, and when it was captured), and your alert settings and which alert conditions are currently active. None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party.
We have no servers that receive app data, and we could not read your data if we wanted to.
Permissions
Local Network. iOS asks whether FireGlance may connect to devices on your local network. FireGlance uses this only to connect to the firewall address you enter. It does not scan or browse your network.
Notifications. FireGlance asks for notification permission only when you turn on alerts (a Pro feature). Alerts are checked on your iPhone: iOS periodically wakes FireGlance in the background, it checks your firewall once, and any notification is generated locally on the device. There is no push service and no server of ours involved.
What FireGlance does not do
No analytics or telemetry of any kind. No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites. No accounts or sign-in. No third-party SDKs. No selling or sharing of data; there is no data to sell.
Purchases
The optional one-time FireGlance Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal information about you from a purchase. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's own privacy policy.
Data deletion
To remove a saved firewall and its Keychain secret, open Settings > Firewalls, tap the edit control next to the firewall, and tap Delete Firewall. Deleting the app removes its settings, pinned certificate fingerprints, and widget data. iOS can keep an app's Keychain items after the app is deleted, so delete your firewalls inside the app first if you also want their stored API keys and passwords removed. You can revoke an API key on the firewall at any time under System > REST API > Keys.
Children
FireGlance is a network-administration utility, is rated 4+, and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version ever changes what data the app handles, this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the change noted here.
October 14, 2026: added the Local Network and notification permissions, on-device alerts, the Home Screen widget's stored summary, and details on how API keys are stored and sent. No change to what we collect: still nothing.
