Live dashboard

Free for one firewall: the whole box on one screen.

  1. pfSense through pfREST

FireGlance talks to the open-source pfSense REST API package (pfREST). If the package is missing, it tells you so.

  2. Status card

Firewall health, pfSense version, uptime, temperature and 1-minute load.

  3. System gauges

Ring gauges for CPU, memory, disk and swap.

  4. Interfaces

Up or down state, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and live download and upload rates per interface.

  5. Gateways

Latency and packet loss per gateway, with a 5-minute latency sparkline.

  6. Services and DHCP leases

Which services are running, and who is on your network from the DHCP leases list.

  7. Refresh every 5 seconds

The dashboard polls every 5 seconds while open, and you can pull to refresh any time.

FireGlance Pro

One purchase for the rest of the toolkit.

  1. Multiple firewallsPro

Monitor every pfSense box you run and switch between them.

  2. Firewall log viewerPro

Firewall logs as readable pass and block entries, with a filter.

  3. AlertsPro

On-device notifications when the firewall is unreachable, a gateway goes down, latency passes 150 ms, packet loss passes 5 percent, a WAN link drops, CPU passes 90 percent or temperature passes 80 C. Each one can be switched off.

  4. Recovery noticesPro

A notification when something breaks and another when FireGlance sees it healthy again. While the firewall can't be reached, an active alert stays active. Local notifications only: no cloud, no push server, no account.

  5. Home Screen widgetsPro

Small and medium widgets with health, CPU, memory and WAN latency. Medium adds gateways and throughput.

Security and privacy

Built for the box that guards your network.

  1. Certificate pinning

pfSense usually runs a self-signed certificate. Approve its SHA-256 fingerprint once and FireGlance accepts only that certificate for that firewall.

  2. HTTPS for credentials

Your API key or password is never sent over plain HTTP.

  3. API key or password

Sign in with a pfREST API key (recommended) or a local username and password. Both live in the iOS Keychain.

  4. Read-only by design

FireGlance only reads. It never changes a rule, restarts a service or edits configuration.

  5. Demo mode

Explore every screen, including Pro previews, with realistic sample data before you connect a firewall.

  6. No data collected

No account, no analytics, no tracking, and no server of ours.

Pricing

Free for one firewall. Pay once for more.

No subscription. No ads. FireGlance Pro is a one-time $9.99 unlock, and it is not shared through Family Sharing: each Apple Account buys its own.

Good to know

  • iPhone only, iOS 17 or later.
  • pfSense with the pfREST package only. pfSense removes unofficial packages on upgrade, so reinstall pfREST after each update.
  • After a background check the widget's throughput figures show 0, because one check can't measure a rate. Open the app for live throughput.
  • A pinned firewall that later moves to a publicly trusted certificate is refused until you remove the pin.
